He who has ears to hear

In the book of Revelation, each of the seven churches in Asia Minor (Modern Day Turkey) is challenged to have a listening ear. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22).

It seems fair to say that God expects us to play a part in the communication process by serious and carefully taking stock of what has been said to us through His Word.
Listening involves a heart that is prepared to accept ‘revelation’ of things not obvious to the natural senses. Only God can help us in this, but it takes humility or an admission that we need God to help us listen carefully.

Thankfully we have the Holy Spirit to help us know the things that are given. Let us develop our relationship with Him by ongoing recognition of His person, ways and works as given to us in scripture.
