We are conditioned from birth to see the world and its ways through the lens of lack. Yet God’s word teaches that he is our Good father who provides all that we need for life and godliness. The believers walk is not a matter of striving but restful trust in God’s provision.
He has a string of good works prepared beforehand for us that we might simply walk into each day. ‘Trust’ not ‘try’ is the believer’s watchword. Each day is a discovery of God’s abundant provision…or at least it can be. He is well able to meet our every need, every day, no matter what the world is screaming from it’s media megaphones.
Meditate on these two scriptures – they are designed to enrich our lives immeasurably.
Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Emphasis added).
Philippians 4:19
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Emphasis added).
