If it’s to be it’s up to me…or is it?
At the beginning of the year, many make resolutions hoping to come out on the other side better rather than worse for wear. If it’s to be it’s up tome seems to be the rallying cry.
Yet Jesus said without me you can do nothing”. I suspect He meant nothing of lasting value and that impacts His kingdom, let alone impresses or even pleases Him.
So it may be more accurate to say that if its to be in 2018, it must originate in His heart, be initiated by Him and sustained by Him. Otherwise we can easily run out of steam when we rely on our own efforts to make things happen.
The love of truth
“Only the love of truth will keep us from the abuse of truth” – Vince Vitali.

He who has ears to hear
In the book of Revelation, each of the seven churches in Asia Minor (Modern Day Turkey) is challenged to have a listening ear. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22).
It seems fair to say that God expects us to play a part in the communication process by serious and carefully taking stock of what has been said to us through His Word.
